(FORREST GUMP 1994)“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get”
Hello Folks,
When it comes to movies, I like to come across one that has meaning, a great emotion preformance, a storyline to relate to, to leave me in laughter, or leave me thinking.
I’m sure many can agree that Forrest Gump is one of your most-liked films, & if it’s not, then your like the Tin man on the Wizard of Oz. “YOU HAVE NO HEART”
Obviously i’m kidding. Movies where an actor can play a character with a disability of some kind, truly is art. It takes a lot to transform into a character like that. Having the right facial expressions, movement, tone of voice and much much more.
I have to say those are the movies I enjoy most, honestly. Such as Cuba Gooding Jr. in Radio and amongst;
Tom Hanks put on a great performance as Forrest Gump, I can’t imagine any other Actor to fulfill this roll, besides Hanks.
Sean Penn is another great actor of our time. I think the perfection he put into I Am Sam defines the difficulties and challenges a person with that disability has to overcome each and everyday they wake up. I loved this film.
Dustin Hoffman, literally blew me away with the first time of seeing Rain Man, actually it still blows my mind and makes me wonder how an actor can do such an outstanding job playing a character with a disability, every time I watch this film. There are many types of autism in the world, and with watching this film, it’s amazing how gifted a person is with autism all the while, at the same time heartbreaking. To see someone with such an intelligent and talented mind,go through each day struggling with everyday life at the same time.
These people could visit a place, or see a skyscraper just once, and instantly take that photographic memory and draw or paint every bit of detail to it’s exact structure..it’s just amazing. They could remember a historic event or tell you the scores from a baseball game they watched years ago, excel in math or have an obsession with their everyday routine. Having to do the same thing everyday, Living life like that, i cannot imagine.
Dustin Hoffman played the character Raymond to a “T”.
These types of movies I enjoy most I would like to say. Now, to see an actor put themselves into THAT, kind of character is truly a work of preforming art. Those types of movies i enjoy, it makes you think, its like sitting in school, during a class you enjoy and really LEARNING something. I like that about these films.
That’s my thought for this evening.
Cheers!
