A New Story: Perfect Strangers

It’s late, I’m wide awake, writing a new story. I shouldn’t have had that last cup of coffee. Oh Well.

Hey folks,

When it comes to movies; the perfect setting, the well written script, the director, the perfect characters, the emotion, the costumes, hair, makeup, the time and preparation … every detail that is put into a movie, the music also plays a role. It sets the mood, or maybe fills in the gap to where the characters have no lines.

As mentioned before… i think, i’ve written so far a total of 4 stories;

A Love Kept Secret, Nothing Last Forever, Never Let Go, and my most recent, Fight of a LIfE.

I thought of another story a while back, but had very little to the story plot. What was it going to be about? how would the pieces of the story that i DID have, all come together?

Then i heard this one song, and it all just made sense.

Perfect Strangers is about two people who are, well perfect for each other, in every way. From sharing the same interest to, just enjoying each others company. They’ve been through a lot together, being there for each other, through good and bad times, from spending hours just talking about nothing… to just sitting in silence with each other. No matter what, it seemed as though they were perfect for each other. But something got in the way of it all, that made everything they had together..start to fall apart, making them become distant from each other. Could they save what they had, or would it all fall apart. Making them Perfect Strangers.

I don’t want to give any more detail just yet, the pieces are still coming together. BUT if you listen to this song, you might just get where i’m going with this story.

So in the meantime, I’m going to start writing.

Books vs. Movies

Hello Folks,

How many of you have read a good book?

How many of you have seen a good movie?

Okay, so how many of you have read a book that’s turned into a movie?

Which one did you like better the movie or the book to the movie?

Confused yet? me too..

My point, writing is such a great way to express your thoughts…about anything, rather it be a real life experience or the way you would have done something. (ex;passing the opposite sex on the street,& making eye contact, that leads a feeling of connection between you. In real life; you just walk right on by. Simple as that, no words exchanged. But the way you wished it would have happened, you would’ve never walked by without acknowledging that connection, that person). Writing, its a great way to explore your imagination and create something wonderful.

Sometimes those stories make it to the big screen, becoming a movie. Rather it be from real life experiences or perhaps the creativeness imagination of a person, it eventually becomes a movie.

Books are more descriptive, leaving not one bit of deal left behind, which to me makes a great read. While movies however tweak and shorten, leaving out parts, changing the way we see it through a book. Which to me, makes a movie harder to enjoy after having read the book.

So my question.

Which do most of you prefer when it comes to books being turned into movies?

Inbox me your answers! also give me some of your own personal Books vs.Movies… I’m curious.

Did you like:The Notebook (Movie or Book?)

Harry Potter (Movies or Books?)

The Help (Movie or Book?)

The Hunger Games ( do you think the movie will compare to the books?)

Cheers!

The Challenge: A Week Later

Bonjour Mon ami,

Okay so i’m far from an expert at french speaking but hey, I like to try.

So it’s been a week with my Challenge. For anyone who doesn’t know what i’m talking about or who was not interested in reading my previous post, here’s what i did.

The past week I decided to spend less time using my phone, watching tv, and spending countless hours in front of my computer. Your probably thinking, this girl is crazy. Sure maybe I am , but have you realized you too could probably be obsessed with checking your phone, or spending countless hours in front of your computer and making sure you don’t miss that television show you’ve been wanting to catch, as well and missing out on other important things in life? . Ladies and gents, the first sign of this is DENIEL.

The past week I devoted myself to only 1 hour each day, of using those 3 items. Well my end result was this ; I used my computer once, my cellphone I used for only an hour each day, and television I used an hour each day (with the exception of Tuesday night, when i had to babysit and had nothing to do but watch TV, so i spent it watching the Dark Knight). I took up reading 2 books in my spare time, did alot of life thinking and came up with some story writing material of my own.

End result; I had a day spent with my uncle and his kids. Family is important no matter what. And you know what, I realized there’s so much i learned by spending time with them. I also joined the gym, and it’s been kicking my ass but its also time worth wasting. I accomplished chores, inside the house and outside =successful feeling. I realized I don’t have to watch tv or go on the Internet to learn things when I can just go outside and discover things, or learned new tasks by hand. I learned that spending time with someone in person is so much better then by using my phone to talk to them.

Seriously, there’s a whole other world out there. I recommend you turn off your phones, TV, and computers and go enjoy it.

Cheers!

The Stories We Love Best, Live In Us Forever…

The Stories We Love Best, Live In Us Forever…

U2-Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own

Since the beginning of their musical career’s in 1976 they’ve achieved great success and pushed through the criticism.Selling over 150million albums, winning 22 Grammy’s, 4 VMA’s, 2 Juno’s and amongst many other awards, they remain at the top of their game. Giving us 12 wonderful and powerful albums they still keep on giving.

With their success with the Album Joshua Tree, U2 has also made success being inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame. Lyrics both powerful and meaningful U2 has written of personal experiences and world experiences. “Do They Know It’s Christmas” became a hit by Band Aid, a collaboration of Bono and amongst many other great artist, this song continues to be re-made by other artists throughout the years.Since the early 1980s, U2—as a band and individually—have come together with other musicians, artists, celebrities, and politicians to address issues concerning poverty, disease such as HIV/AIDS, and social injustice (war, politics, world hunger).

These guys truly do “Rock”.

The song “Sometimes You Cant Make It On Your Own” was influenced by Bono’s late father who passed away in 2001. I have loved this song since i first heard it released in 2004. This song is about Bono’s rocky relationship with his dad. Its a reflection on who his father was, what he meant to Bono, and how his father has impacted his life, both personally and through his music. This, is Bono’s way of saying goodbye to his father.

I love this song in so many ways, in ways that i “get” it and “relate” to it, in ways of rethinking life, and what it means. This song is my song of the week.

He just loved Opera, so in the song, I hit one of those big tenor notes that he would have loved so much. I think he would have loved it, I hope so. I wish i’d known him better

-Bono

The Challenge

Alright class is now in session.

With a show of, hands, likes or reblogging how many of you agree & shamefully admit to spending way to much time in front of a computer, a cell phone, or perhaps a television.

“LIKE!”

Hey folks,

Have you noticed while walking down a crowded street, the amount of people you pass, holding a phone in front of them? Okay texting while walking has become considered a skill. A dangerous skill you could get hurt while doing so. Have you tried talking to your sibling or a parent while the tv is on? and they only catch parts of what your trying to tell them? Isn’t that rude? I think so. Do you notice the amount of technology that is being presented to us in the world. Of course its a wonderful thing, but is it to wonderful that people are starting to forget the words “there’s a whole other life out there” Meaning, go outside, stop searching through someones facebook or twitter photos titled “trip of a lifetime” & wishing you were them. GET OFF YOUR ASS AND take a trip somewhere (sorry, the truth hurts), go learn something at a museum or read a book, instead of googling it. Go see a movie with friends you haven’t talked to in person for days because you can just skype them now, or text them. Put down your eBook and go to a library, get off eharmony or match.com and go socialize outside of your home. You might actually meet someone who isn’t lying about their age just to get your attention.(unlike their eharmony profile says) .

I can understand if your work requires you to use a computer or phone. But still…

Here’s your assignment. Here is what I will be doing.

I’m calling it, “The Challenge”.

My challenge for a week , and goal to achieve is to stop spending countless hours in front of the computer, or having OCD with checking my phone. I’m going to enjoy life without the computer in front of me, without my phone in hand. I’m limiting myself to only an hour a day to either, the computer, phone or TV. Phone is only for a real emergency.

Lets see after a week if this challenge will continue.

So put away your ipad, your iPhone, cellphone whatever, step away from your laptops, flat screen TV’s and go see the world, go enjoy life. LEARN SOMETHING NEW, maybe about the world, or about yourself.

Can you challenge yourself?

Class dismissed.

Cheers.

A novel for some, A short story for others.
It has a beginning, A middle, & eventually an end.
